This has been on our radar for a while now, but due to complications with their record label,Dark Night of the Soul's official release kept getting pushed back for years and thus, fell through the cracks.
The story goes....
Danger Mouse (Half of both Broken Bells and Gnarls Barkley), Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse, and director David Lynch got together at SXSW and conceived an idea for an album to be accompanied by a book of photos taken by Lynch.
The album was created with a host of badass collaborations, such as The Flaming Lips, James Mercer, Iggy Pop, Vic Chesnutt and Julian Casablancas. However, the legal dispute between Danger Mouse and his label EMI kept the album from ever getting its proper release. Unfortunately, Mark Linkous never got to see it as he recently died in March and Dark Night of the Soul was officially released in July 2010.

This track is awesome. I've been a huge fan of Danger Mouse ever since I first heard the Grey Album.
